Most hotels in Switzerland are expensive, many of them would need a renovation since they have been built in the 60ies...that can be charming, if well maintained and taken care of, or just not worth the money. So I learned a good tip saves you money and a lot of evening hours searching the Internet.

Graubünden

    very stylish, high comfort and all you need in the kitchen, even a Nespresso with capsules. It has a fantastic architecture and a SPA in the basement. Affordable off-season.

    the most amazing B&B I have ever stayed in. If you fancy good design and want to experience "instant relaxing", this is the place to go.

Tessin - Ticino

    Very basic, but nice and friendly B&B to stay with kids. Affordable, clean and in the middle of the town. Has some character. Bikes to rent.

Wallis - Valais

• Grächen: recommended for - ski vacation with kids. Please note, that for ski vacation in Switzerland, you need to book ahead of time, you are super lucky if you get a room for the next season. Better be a year ahead.
• • Hotel Hannigalp
    has, amongst the "normal" hotel rooms, 2 modern apartments with direct access to the SPA (nice SPA!), but expensive. The only hotel with a pool in Grächen.
  • Hotel Desiree
    located downtown Grächen in walking distance to the ski lift. Good price and close to Walliserkanne, a recommended restaurant.
